Is it right for me?
Selected adults with volume or contour concerns may be assessed. Previous filler, allergies, active skin or dental infection and medical history need review.
Discuss allergies, previous injectables, active infection, medicines and any healing problems. Tell the clinician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; elective treatment may need to be deferred because safety information is limited. Do not stop prescribed medicines without advice from the prescriber.
Evidence and realistic expectations.
Clinical studies support particular fillers for particular volume and contour concerns. Material, treatment area and existing anatomy affect the result; a study of one filler cannot validate every product or technique.
Filler adds material beneath the skin. It does not reposition tissue like surgery, treat every cause of a fold or reverse aging. HA filler may be reduced with hyaluronidase, but removal has risks and is not a guaranteed rescue for a complication.
Risks to understand.
Swelling, bruising, lumps, infection and delayed inflammation can occur. Rare injection into a blood vessel can damage skin and cause blindness or stroke. Unusual severe pain or pale, grey or blue skin needs immediate medical assessment; sudden vision changes or stroke symptoms need emergency care without waiting for a routine clinic reply.

Are all fillers reversible?
No. Hyaluronic acid fillers can sometimes be reduced with an enzyme treatment, which has its own risks. Biostimulators and other materials do not behave the same way.
