Neck-band treatment (Nefertiti lift)
Botulinum toxin can soften selected vertical neck bands caused by the platysma muscle. The name “Nefertiti lift” describes a cosmetic approach; it does not mean loose skin is lifted or removed as in surgery.

Is it right for me?
It may suit visible muscle bands or a muscular component to jawline softening. Marked loose skin or excess fat will not be corrected by relaxing muscle alone.
Treatment is unsuitable with an infection at the injection site or allergy to the proposed product. Neuromuscular illness, swallowing or breathing problems and medicines that affect muscle function need specific review. Pregnancy and breastfeeding require discussion because safety data are limited; elective treatment may be deferred.
Evidence and realistic expectations.
There is clinical-trial support for selected platysma-band treatment, including a US-approved indication for one toxin formulation. This does not validate every “Nefertiti lift” technique, jawline claim or product.
Muscle bands, horizontal skin lines and excess neck skin need different assessments. Neck treatment has particular risks of unwanted weakness and swallowing difficulty.
Risks to understand.
Bruising, headache, asymmetry and unwanted muscle weakness can occur. Depending on the area, this can affect the eyelids, smile, chewing or neck. Rare spread of toxin effect can cause serious weakness. Trouble speaking, swallowing or breathing after treatment needs immediate medical attention.
What to expect.
