START WITH YOUR CONCERN

Double chin

Fullness beneath the chin can come from fat, skin, muscle or facial proportions. Dr. Roy assesses the cause before discussing a non-surgical option.

Understanding the concern.

A double chin can reflect a fat pocket, loose skin, muscle or the shape of the chin and jaw. A new, painful, firm or one-sided lump should be medically examined rather than treated as cosmetic fat.

Where care starts.

First identify the cause. A fat-reducing treatment is relevant only to a suitable fat pocket; filler changes projection and ultrasound has a different aim. A surgical opinion may be more useful where excess skin or anatomy limits non-surgical options.

What the evidence means.

Specific treatments have evidence for specific targets. Deoxycholic acid evidence concerns selected under-chin fat, while an ultrasound or filler study cannot prove that every double chin will improve.

Options to discuss.

Under-chin fat reduction

Discussed only when a suitable under-chin fat pocket is identified.

Chin fillers

May be considered for selected projection concerns rather than fat removal.

HIFU for the neck

An option to discuss when selected neck laxity is part of the concern.

The Defined Profile

A coordinated assessment of the chin, jaw and under-chin area.

Your questions.

Is a double chin always caused by excess fat?

No. Skin laxity, muscle and limited chin projection can also affect the contour. An examination is needed.

Will fat-dissolving injections tighten loose skin?

They target a fat pocket and are not a universal skin-tightening treatment. Reducing fat may not address a concern caused mainly by laxity.

Can chin filler make the area look different?

Changing projection can alter the profile in selected cases, but filler does not remove fat or excess skin.

Is this a weight-loss treatment?

No. These options concern a localized aesthetic assessment, not general weight management.

How much swelling should I expect after injectable fat reduction?

Swelling can be noticeable and last several days or longer. The dedicated treatment page explains why recovery planning matters.

How do I choose between HIFU and injections?

Begin with the cause of the fullness. These approaches have different purposes and risks, and neither is suitable for everyone.

Suitability depends on a personal assessment. Meet Dr. Roy Dagher or call +961 76 612 621 to discuss an appointment.
