Understanding the concern.
Indented acne scars can be narrow and deep, broad with sharp edges, or rolling and tethered beneath the skin. Flat red or brown marks are different. Treating active acne helps limit new scars; the next step depends on scar shape, skin tone and previous treatment.
Where care starts.
The first priority is controlling active acne and protecting the skin. Scar procedures can then be compared. Some deep or tethered scars need another technique or specialist referral rather than repeating the same device.
What the evidence means.
There are several evidence-supported scar treatments, but no single option reliably removes every scar. Skin tone, scar depth and recovery preferences matter when comparing them. An optional add-on needs evidence of its own.

Are brown marks after acne the same as scars?
Not necessarily. A flat pigment mark and an indented scar are different concerns. The assessment helps distinguish them before choosing treatment.
Which treatment is best for my acne scars?
There is no single best option for every scar. The plan depends on scar shape, depth, skin tone, active acne and previous treatment response.
Will my scars disappear completely?
Complete removal cannot be promised. Treatment aims to improve appearance, and the degree of change varies.
Can I have scar treatment while I still have acne?
Active acne should generally be controlled before elective scar procedures, so new lesions do not continue to create scars. Your clinician will assess the timing and any infection or irritation.
How long does an acne-scar plan take?
A staged plan commonly extends over months, allowing healing and reassessment between visits. The selected treatment pages explain their broad timelines.
What should I bring to my consultation?
Bring information about previous acne treatments, medicines, skin reactions and any earlier scar procedures. Ask about recovery, pigment risk and the full cost before deciding.
